Fiddleback Maple

A Big Leaf Maple felled in my driveway was noticed to have within it a fabulous, chatoyant pattern known variously as Fiddleback, Flame, or Tiger maple. Local artist/wood worker David Taber cuts & sands shapes; I create a rivet to merge them with metal.

Current shapes are Brushstrokes, Eggplants, Wings, and Beacons.  As we play around with various combinations, some shapes are with cabochons, some with all metal rivets, sometimes on posts, others on earwires.  All can be replicated, but know there are slight variations color, pattern and size (within 1/16") as they are hand cut from a slab of a real tree.
